I am a huge fan of Organic India products ever since I was introduced to them for this blog review. I have been using their Moringa supplement ever since. During that blog posted I mentioned how I liked to sneak Moringa into my three-year-old’s (now four-year-old’s) food.
Recently I have been into making smoothies to get the daily allowance for veggies. I add in a 1/2 tsp of Moringa into the smoothie. Which has been making a huge impact on my health. But I still found that due to my lack of sleep (my 10 month old still wakes up every two hours!! What!?! I know!), along with my work schedule, my immune system has been lowered. At the end of August, I ended up with pneumonia and was sick in bed for two weeks.
I was given Organic India Tulsi Tea to review. Here is a bit about Tulisi
Modern research has classified Tulsi as an adaptogenic herb. Adaptogens have been shown to support the body’s natural immune system while relieving the body’s negative reaction to stress. Adaptogenic herbs have been used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal medicines for thousands of years to promote and maintain wellness. Many adaptogenic herbs have been referred to by herbalists as rejuvenate herbs, qi tonic herbs, rasayanas or restorative herbs. They help the body adapt to environmental, physical and emotional stressors, support normal functions, and restore balance.
Sounded like exactly like what I need! I then concocted my own superfood tea smoothie that even my four-year-old asks to drink. I mean this has veggies, fruits, amino acids, vitamins, and adaptogenic herbs (WOW that is a mouth full!)
Here is the recipe that I came up with:
- 1 cup frozen smoothie mix with spinach (I use a frozen blend that I find at Walmart)
- 6-8 oz Organic India Tulsi Tea, cooled (I really liked the Raspberry Peach Tea)
- 1/2 tsp Moringa
- 1/2 tsp Boku Super Shrooms
Directions: Add to your highspeed blender till smooth.
Depending on how much spinach you use, you will end up with a serve (or two) of veggies. Plus all the added benefits of the amino acids from the Moringa.
For my four-year-old, I started with less tea and more apple juice. Then each time I made it with less and less apple juice.
