I started photography about 10 years ago and just did it as a hobby with a point and shoot camera. Then several years later I moved up to an advanced point and shoot and still just did photography as a hobby. A few years ago I started taking pictures of a cousin’s baby, then purchased my first DSLR. I’ve recently started into doing more professional shoots but I have a lot more to learn. I’d love to start taking more “soulful” images.
Mary, thanks for sharing your journey!
i’ve been taking photos since i was about 7 — only got a digital camera in the last year & have been in manual exclusively. actually started a side photography business a few months ago 🙂 i would love to get better at posing people for photos.
That is exciting that you started a photo business! Good luck.
And if you have a website or facebook page, please link up on my sidebar!
New to using manual DSLR. Thanks for the opportunity for a clickin moms memership :).
Jen, That is great to hear you made the leap to manual. Once I made myself take the leap, I wondered what took me so long. Good luck on your photo journey.

I started with my DSLR a few years ago, but just recently started shooting in manual, I just need to keep taking more pictures to improve my composition!
Yeah for making the manual leap. I hear you on working on composition. I feel like that can really make the picture and I tend to take the same compositions over and over and over. I need to work on that as well.
And if you have a website or facebook page, please link up on my sidebar!
I started photography as more than an interest about 2 years ago and have been self-teaching ever since. I just recently, as of a week ago, put together a Facebook page to get myself out there! I have shot primarily in aperture priority and am slowly gaining confidence in manual mode. My biggest priority this upcoming year is to make sure I’m nailing my SOOC almost every single time, that focus is always spot on and my improvement in my composition.
Thanks for the giveaway offer!!!
Rhiannon,
My SOOC camera is what I am working on as well. I tend to find that I end up spending time editing things I should have had correct in the camera.
Feel free to link up (located on my sidebar) your facebook page so others can see your work.
