Raising a child seems to be made up of firsts and last. While you are cheering the change of them becoming stronger, smarter and more independent- it can be hard as a parent to say good-bye to the part of him that will never be. You don’t always know when the last something will be… and then sometimes you do.
The last morning that you go into your baby’s room to get him out of his crib.
I don’t think I realized that he wouldn’t go back in his crib once we showed him the big boy bed. But he didn’t. It has been two weeks, he has even been sick, and he is happy in the big boy bed.
He seems to beam with confidence of his new age. I said to him “My Baby.” He responded “No, Big Boy.” Yes, yes you are a big boy now (sniff sniff).
