Last night, with the DSLR class I am taking at UR, we went down to the Lee Bridge and War Memorial for some sunset/night time shots.
Lessons learned:
One, I am very uncomfortable with landscape and felt out of my element. However, I would love to give it a try again. Two, I am wacky with my settings and need to spend more time thinking about what I want to accomplish in each shot before snapping the picture. I am slowly getting the hand of my new camera (Canon EOS 70D ) with all of its fancy settings like live preview. However, I still feel that all those settings makes me think too much or not enough about what I am doing. But I LOVE that is easier to get things in focus. Third, I am still trying to find my artistic style but am finding that like grainy images and love to convert things to black and white, and for some reason and really into images that have a sort of matte like process to them. Which makes some sense since when I did take photography in high school I always preferred the matte paper over the glossy.
