Below is a summary of all the play and learning we have done for the past week or so. Following this post I will post more details and lesson plans. We also hosted a playdate with the Farm Theme. All that is listed below was out for the playdate.
What is a farm? A Farm is where we grow crops (veggies, fruit, grain) and/or livestock.
We visited a Farm
And I displayed pictures of our visit where he plays so we could continue to talk about our experience.
Our art lessons and theme were based on the following Barefoot Books:
Driving My Tractor
Farm Themed Duplos
We combined our Duplos with a new set LEGO Brick Themes DUPLO My First Farm. We used the flowers to plant vegetables, and the farmer would harvest them. He liked the tractor but the tractor doesn’t come with anything to pull, luckily we had the LEGO DUPLO Number Train to make a long train to harvest our veggies.
Picture Match Farm Animals
We matched our Jumbo Farm Animals to the picture cards.
Sensory Bin with Farm Animal
Simple sensory bin filled with beans and Safari Ltd Farm Animals.
Match Circles to Picture
Pig in the Mud
We combined the tractor tracks with marble rolling to make a pig in the mud!
Added wool to our sheep!
Blueberries Muffins and Blueberries! YUM! Connecting our visit to the farm with the food we eat.
