Our house has been sick for over a week. We are all at our wits end hoping that we will be on the mend soon.
It seems like all I do is look for tissues. And all Kodi does is run from Mama so I can’t use the tissues. The past ten days have looked a lot like this– snotty nosed kiddo and dirty dishes.
We have fussing that breakfast is taking too long to get ready.
Eating Breakfast.
Holding That Bear. Poor little man looks awful. Maybe he should let his Mama wipe his nose without it turning into WWIII!
Along with That Bear abandonment. Poor fella, nose down on the floor.
And of course a pile full of dirty dishes (and a wine glass– I might be sick but a girl has to has some wine!)
The only thing that saved me this past week or so is a handful of videos. I struggle with how much TV I should allow Kodi to watch. But when we are sick, and I am sick, he can watch as much as he wants. When is is healthy he really doesn’t seem to want that much TV. He went through a HUGE TV phase a while back when he as getting his molars. But if he is feel well we would rather color, play with blocks, or be outside.
Here is what is on Kodi’s play list this past week.
Oh to help with that evil Mama guilt about too much screen time– I like to think of TV time as enrichment time… so I have listed them as Music Enrichment, Spiritual Enrichment, and of course Educational.
- Imagination Movers: Rock-O-Matic
. It is on Netflix. It is pretty good music that will make your kiddo want to dance. It even has made my child that hardly ever laughs laugh. (MUSICAL ENRICHMENT)
- Laurie Berkner: We are the Dinosaurs. Kodi walks around the house say “Boom Boom Boom” and that means put on the Dinosaur song. (MUSICAL ENRICHMENT)
- Veggie Tales: Dave and the Giant Pickle. Cute story, has sheep that fall down, peas that talk like they are french, and a giant pickle. (SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT)
- Sesame Street: The Letter of the Month . He really seems to like this Sesame Street Episode. I also prefer this over the newer episodes with way too much animation. (EDUCATIONAL).
