One of the many jobs my husband has around here is to feed the dogs. Before Kodi was born we decided that one of the first things we would like Kodi to do to help put was to feed the dogs. This is two fold. One, he learns early on to help out. Second, it is important for him to respect the dogs and for the dogs to respect him. My husband has done a knock out job with helping Kodi learn how to feed the dogs, and respect their space while eating.
At 19 months he is quite the helper. What is really amazing is that figured out, all by himself, that Buttercup likes to eat her food under the table.
About half through the video he wanders off to work on the circle sorter puzzle. It is a beautiful first puzzle that I bought for him months ago. After he played with it for awhile I put it away and just brought it back out yesterday. The puzzle may be somewhat simple, but I like that I can say the colors, and eventually ask him to pick the color out and match it. And later on we can do size discrimination.
