As I near the end of my pregnancy here are a few things that helped me make it through:
Old Navy Maternity Shirred Roll-Panel Gauchos
I have two pairs of these pants, and I am in them I would say, 24 hours a day. They are super comfortable and will work for all trimesters (huge plus!). They don’t cut into your waist!
I will have to say if you want to start hating your favorite place to shop for clothes, then get pregnant. Most stores have limited, if any maternity sections (YES I AM TALKING TO YOU KOHL”S). Old Navy’s in store selections vary, and most things are available only online. But they offer free shipping on orders over $50. Don’t forget to use ebates to get a percentage of your purchases back in cash and sometimes special discount codes! (And use your Old Navy Card so that ever $1 you spend you get 5 points– when you get 1000 points, or $250 in Old Navy purchase, you will get a $10 reward card).
Get a GOOD pair of slide on shoes
First get a pair of slide on shoes– you will know why very soon when you lose site of your feet and the ability to get any and all shoes on (and forget about those cowboy boots!).
And when I say good pair of shoes, I mean something that will support your feet. Most people get flip flops that just slide on but offer no arch or back support. I got a pair of Chaco’s from Sierra Trading Post. I wear them all the time and around the house. Pay close attention because you can usually get a discount code from Sierra Trading Post (Right now they have one for 25% off) making their prices an even better deal.
Take Good Care of your Feet
Your feet are so important to your over all health and usually over looked. I not only make sure I have supportive shoes on, but I also soak my feet regularly using Jackson Sage bath salts (use the awakening or the workout recovery versions to get even more benefit). This helps remove toxins, reduce swelling, and improve circulation. So far, I have have had limited foot and leg swelling and I swear that it is because I make sure I take care of my feet. Just add 1-2 TBS to your Foot Spa Tub and soak for 20 minutes. When you are done, add a 1-2 drops of peppermint essential oil to your favorite unscented lotion for even more benefit.
Also, I found my feet were getting all kinds of distorted so I bought some toe separators. I can’t remember the brand I bought but I picked it up at Target for around $10 bucks. You can also get what are called Yoga Toes but they are more expensive. The separators seem to help tired feet feel better, and what pregnant women doesn’t have tired feet?
All Things Pastry!
Dear Trader Joe’s I love your frozen Chocolate Croissants. I thank god ever morning for learning about these tasty delights. I would also like to thank my husband for remembering ever night to put these tasty bits of heaven out to rise!
Ok, so all things pastry may not be for every pregnant lady out there, but seriously pregnant or not, Trader Joe’s Chocolate Croissants are crazy good– trust me.
I would also like to give a shout out to Pearl’s Cupcakes for their yummy locally made cupcakes. And Panera for their chocolate chip cookies.
Body Pillow
Early in my pregnancy my back was killing me. And when I say early I think about was about 8 or 9 weeks along. I broke down and bought a Boppy Total Body Pillow. It helped my back better than a regular body pillow since it is more contoured. Of course, now that I am 36 weeks, no matter what pillow or how many I am use (which I am up to 5– the Boppy, a Body Pillow and three regular pillows) I am so uncomfortable and can’t sleep. And to top it off the little body-mate will only let me sleep on my right side. But the Boppy Body Pillow is still a great product.
