This is the third year for my Iris Bed, and as you can see, they are doing VERY well. I am going to have to dig up some of the bulbs because you can’t even walk down the sidewalk (somehow Scott thinks this is necessary! Something about getting the lawn mower by!?)
If you need any Iris Bulbs let me know, once they stop blooming I am going to have to thin them out and I can pass some of these lovely plants your way!
They say the best time to plant is late August or Fall but from what I have found Irises are pretty easy to grow and are not that particular. One thing I have found about Irises that I didn’t really know is that usually the first year you plant them, you won’t get many, if any, blooms. Don’t fear, as you can see, they will come and make you feel like a super gardener.
Also I found this great pdf on how to grow Irises.
Thanks Virginia for sharing these lovely Irises with me, and letting me share in a piece of your Mother’s flower garden.
