I know that this year my garden days/time will be very limited. One because the fact that bending to touch the ground is getting to be an ability that had been once take for granted. Of course two, because I will be spending time with our new little one during the heart of growing season.
Yet, the garden must be taking care of because it demands me to do so. But also because my sanity is seems to be dependent on my time I spend there. I am reducing me expectations but I can’t reduce my desire to at least dig in the dirt some.
I decied not to buy any seeds this year, and am only growing from left over seeds from last year. Before I found out I was pregnate in the fall, I order a seed started set from Aerogarden. We will have a mix of vegetables and flowers.
Here is a photo after one week of the seeds in the Aerogarden.
This is the first year we have tried using the Aerogarden so we will see how the seeds turn out. The directions say that the seeds will be ready to harden off sin four weeks!
I also am planning on adding more roses to the front yard in hopes of it someday looking more like an English Garden. I spent my WHOLE garden budget on several David Austin Roses!
Here are my ideas:
First I want to take the front side area and put in a hedge of Queen of Sweden Roses.
Before (Tulips and Daffodils are on their way up!)
And what we hope after! (You will have to use your imagination)
The next area that will be sporting new roses is the side yard.
Before
After. I am planting three roses. From back to front: Wisley, Port of Sunlight, Lichfield Angel.
It is wonderful to be starting the season… can’t wait to see how it will turn out!
