We decided to go ahead and paint the what will be the Baby’s room on Saturday. We aren’t putting in the crib or other baby related items just yet, instead we will make a nicer guest room.
As you can see from the two before pictures below– it was not a very inviting room. It was more like the room from hell! No matter how many times we got all the junk out of the room, more junk showed up!
Before getting started we had to clean up the room. Which meant a trip to the dumpster, Salvation Army, and the antique shop (well, the items for the antique shop are now in our front sitting room till we can get there).
In our house, what would the clean up process be without a little help holding down the furniture.
The weather made it a perfect day to paint. Below is a view from the baby room window on painting day.
Color Scheme: Gender Neutral- GREEN.
Color for Walls: Fluorescent Lime from Lowes
Once we got started I was a bit concerned that the green might be, well, TOO fluorescent. But we kept on painting.
Once we were done, well, the room has a glow! But I really liked how bright and happy it is. The child will have a lifetime of living and/or working in rooms with dull, grey paint colors, so I thought we should live a little with the color.
What’s next? Putting the Ikea furniture together!
