POST UPDATED– adoptions will be handled through For the Love of Poodles.
This little Shih Tzu was found roaming the streets. We have not been able to find his owners and are now looking for a forever home for this sweet little guy.
He is about 4 years old and not neutered (will be neutered before being homed). He is currently in a home with three dogs (Aussie, Pit/Boxer Mix, and a yorkiepoo) and three cats. He seems to have no issue with the cats or with dogs of various sizes. He is also in a home with a very active toddler and is fine with him. He doesn’t mind being picked up and will sit in your lap. His favorite place is near you. Loves food. Doesn’t bark but will make a small quite bark when left alone. I would recommend him to be in a home with someone that is home most of the time or with another dog. He didn’t care for his feet being touched but I have been working on that and today he was letting me touch them. The groomers said he was fine with being groomed. Mostly house broken but has had a few accidents which could be fixed by taking him out more– most seem to have been my fault because my dogs can go longer. I would recommend someone limiting water and treating at first like he is not trained just to help him. He doesn’t seem to know any commands. Overall sweet and calm, however sometimes a little jumpy with loud sudden movements but I think with a good home he would easily out grow this. No signs of aggression. He is about 10 pounds but I know he needs a few more pounds on him because he is boney.
He will be fostered with For the Love of Poodles. Adoptions will be handled through them once he is neutered and all shots are updated. I will miss having in out home and can’t wait for him to find his forever home.
When he entered our care he looked like the picture below. However this does no justice to how dirty, smelly and skinny he was.
He was so matted and dirty that before I took him to the groomers we had to cut his mats and give him a bath. He still looked like the picture below before his doggie spa day.
He would love to find a forever home! Please send this along to help Brewster find a home.
