As most of you know, our little man is not the napper. It has been quite the challenge getting him to sleep. Even as a newborn the idea of a 2 hour nap– what is that! He is a 30 minute recharger. We don’t call it his crib we call it his charging pad.
And since he is such a horrible napper, I have to go to many lengths to make sure he gets his naps.
There is one small grace– he will now fall asleep in the car. Not right away, and you have to time it in the window of when he might be sleepy, but you can get a nap!
So today he woke up at 4:55am (bed is between 6-6:30 and he sleep through the night). Took a nap at 7:20-7:55. Which by my calculations puts the next nap at 10:30ish. But that would not do today–I wanted to go to my MOPPS meeting, and the nap would be after the meeting started.
So what did I do? Put him in the car at 9 am. Go to the bank (and of course everyone said what at cute baby, his hat is so cute!). Now if he was at home I have to wait till 2-2.5 hours between naps to try to get him to sleep… but in the car I can have the 1:45 window. So, we finished the bank, and I drove. He was asleep by 9:30. And I drove and drove so he could nap.
While driving this song came on.
There is no one in the world I would drive this much for, and I will miss this. I will miss looking back in my mirror to see my sleeping baby. And I will miss the sound he makes when he wakes up.
